Melissa possesses a Master of Science Degree in Administration in addition to her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology & Applied Statistics. In addition to her degree based education Melissa has obtained her certifications as a Grant Writing Professional (GWP), Grant Management Professional (GMP), and Project Management Professional (PMP). She studied at the California State University-Bakersfield – College of Business and Public Administration. Her areas of expertise are Project Management, Business Analytics, and Grant Writing and Management.
Melissa has devoted the past twenty years to specializing in accounting, fiscal and business management, supervision and personnel management, and regulatory compliance. She has nine years of documented success directing specially funded programs and projects in the public and private sectors of business and education. For five of these years, she served as a consultant in research design, business analytics, and project management.
Throughout Melissa’s career, she has honed her skills by specializing in fiscal reform, grant management, internal audits, budgetary compliance and restructuring of specially funded programs, in accordance to OMB regulations and GAAP. For the past two years she has advised on grant writing, grant and project management, program evaluation, and fiscal compliance and reporting. Her knowledge of software applications is advanced, providing fluid maneuverability of Excel, R, SPSS, Microsoft Applications, Adobe, PeopleSoft, Common Management Systems and a variety of Enterprise Resource Management systems.
